About the Author
At the tender age of 14, I survived a two week family vacation by reading Helter Skelter, the famous account of the Manson family murders. I’ve been trying to understand the dark side of human nature ever since. As a forensic/clinical psychologist and private investigator, I spend my time investigating, researching, and evaluating people who’ve done bad things and/or the people who’ve suffered because of them.
I thought I ought to introduce myself. I’m a “free-lance” historian (trained in art history, actually).I have worked with forensic psychologists on other subjects (parental alienation) and have a huge archive and collated subject-specific collections on a variety of homicides. I looked Vronsky’s list and knew I could tease out more (using a research method I have developed) and have collected about 420 female serial killer cases. I have an ongoing dialog with other prominent writers on serial killers. I admire your work and wanted to say hello.
Thanks, Robert. I am familiar with your site and it is really impressive. You’ve done some amazing research. Keep in touch.
I’m planning to publish an article on a large popular website on Female Serial Killers and will be looking for an appropriate quote from your articles. I thought I ought to note that my research is not actually on females only (despite the website). I have a large archive on crimes involving both sexes and would like you to know that I am always willing to share. I realize that the “misandry” angle can put off a lot of people, but I only deal with this because in my studies of secondary literature I found so much specious theorizing.
Thanks so much, Robert. I’ve only had my Female Serial Killers site up a few months and I have no idea how to attract more traffic. Anything helps
And, I’ve visited your site several times and will make sure I link to it. It’s very impressive. Joni
I’m excited about your blog! I thought I’d leave a comment since I just co-edited a book that was written by Aileen Wuornos, the “first female serial killer”. It’s called “Dear Dawn,” and I’d love to tell you more about it…
I am disgusted by the increasing trend of mothers harming their babies. Is this really a new phenomenon, or is there precedence for this that you’ve seen in your reading?
